Apple features Yesterday Was a Lie trailer
by Jason on May.13, 2009, under Cinematography, News, Work
Yesterday Was a Lie is featured on Apple’s trailer site! That means it has potentially had more views today than all the views it has had since it was released.
I’m glad black & white cinematography is becoming more and more accepted. It should be available to filmmakers at every budget level as a creative choice, just as it has been in the past. In fact, the only other piece I’ve had featured on Apple was also B&W. I could go my whole career shooting black and white exclusively. Directors/producers, contact me if you have an upcoming black & white project!
Apple service

I recently had problems with my Apple Powerbook G4, and took it to the Apple Store for repair. After waiting over a month, checking every few days for updates on status, they finally contacted me to let me know my part was on its way and my repair would be complete soon.
I told the genius that the situation was unacceptable. They had replaced every possible part on the computer, which makes me feel like I’m getting back Frankenstein’s powerbook. I didn’t like the fact that everything had broken on the machine in four months, and I said I needed a replacement. He said he couldn’t help me but he’d tell the store manager about my situation.
I was surprised that the manager called me back within an hour, and had decided to give me the current top-of-the-line model, the MacBook Pro, for free, because he agreed that my case had been handled very poorly. I just picked it up today. It’s a shame Apple’s hardware isn’t as good as it once was, but at least they have enough customer service sense to give a free computer when it’s needed. They really need to work on their Quality Control, because their components fail worse than condoms in Africa.
